Family Owned & Operated

Micro farming,
food processing, real food.

We're a small farm growing produce, canning foods, and raising tiny animals. Everything we sell, we'd feed to our own family.

What We Offer

From our fields to your table

Seasonal

Produce

Fresh, in-season vegetables and fruit — picked and sold the same week.

Well Protected

Eggs

Our chickens are well cared for, with open coops and room to live naturally. Our livestock guardian dog helps protect the flock so the chickens can live as stress free as possible.

Small Batch

Preserves & Goods

We're working toward commercially available pickles and salsas. Cottage food laws do not allow us to sell those products casually, so we're making sure every step is done correctly.

Our Story

Meet Nick, Rachel, and our little farm

Muddy Road Farm is our home, our work in progress, and the place where we are building a slower, more honest kind of food life. We are Nick and Rachel Borcherding, and around here the garden, the animals, the kitchen, and the old road all belong to the same story.

Scout is the guardian of the farm. Tom and Huck are our mini donkeys. Pearl is the mini cow. Smokey and Bandit are the OGs. Fred is our tiny Nigerian Dwarf buck, Peaches leads the pack of does, and Daisy was the first baby born here. The rest of the Nigerian Dwarf herd keeps the place lively in all the best ways.

Alongside the animals, we grow what we can, preserve what the season gives us, and source vegetables and products from local places when we need more than our garden can provide. We try to stay with Missouri produce as much as possible.
