The road that raised us
The house at Muddy Road Farm can be traced back to 1916. Before it became our home, it passed from one generation to the next through the Gall family.
One family, one piece of land, over a century
The house can be traced back to being built in 1916. We purchased it from Jean Gall (1922-2020), whose father was Glen Gall (1892-1965), whose father was William Emmett Gall (1861-1943).
Because the house and land were handed down through one family for generations, we like to think of ourselves as the second owners. Muddy Road Farm is our chapter in a story that was already more than a century old when we arrived.
The land shows up on the map, generation after generation
These historical plat maps show the Gall family's land along the river through the decades. They are part of the paper trail that connects Muddy Road Farm back to the family who cared for it before us.
A new chapter on old ground
We do not see this place as something we started from scratch. We see it as land with roots, a house with memory, and a farm we have the responsibility to carry forward.
